My husband and I recently got back from a card player Cruise on the Oasis Of the Seas. The poker part was a great experience. The owners of the event had rented the conference room for the duration of the cruise.

There were 5 scheduled tournaments and one later added. buyis in the early morning were $80, mid afternoon were $100. The evenings were free of tournaments to allow enjoyment of cruise ship entertainment. The rest of the time from 9am to whenever,,, cash games were offered. At first the limit games were 2/4 and 20/40. We lobbied for something inbetween and they then offered 3/6. The NL games were 1/2, I think, didn't play them so I am not sure. They also had a 4/8 Omaha8.

The dealers were great, friendly and knowledgeble. They seem to go on every cruise and were like a family. The players (nonFUG) also seemed to go on all cruises and were very friendly. And they all seemed to have a good deal more money than us FUGers, lol. The non dealers seemed to be two types, dealers who take off from regular jobs to join the cruise because they find it more entertaining and profitable than casino dealing, and older couples like John and I. I had expected the players to be hard core professionals out to take my money. Not so. I felt right at home and my poker skills were as good as theirs. Doc, you would make a good living on these cruises.

The Tenners, Linda johnson, and Jan Fisher were friendly and made us feel right at home. I hope to be able to take another Card Player Cruise sometime. Wish i could afford to join the regulars. I will keep playing all the FaceUpGaming games, trying to win another. Linda mentioned they were going to schedule one going out of Galveston, that one we may actually pay to go on since it is in our neck of the woods. so far it is not on the schedule.

We about broke even on the poker playing part. We tried playing the first three tournaments and did not place, so we gave up on tournaments. We managed to make our entries back on the ring games. My biggest win was $121 on the 4/8 Omaha after Mark Tenner's seminar. That wasn't until the last day. On the next cruise, that is what I will play.
